The Clinic

Teaching Future Leaders of the Dental Community

Ben Massell Dental Clinic is a teaching institute. We host dental residents, dental students from Dental College of Georgia, and dental hygiene students from Georgia State University. In addition to leaning from some of the best dentists in Atlanta, dental residents and students help address the dental demands of our community.

Designed by architect Ted H. Taylor; consulting architects and designers Gary Kirkus of Atlanta Dental and Gary Lowery of Atlanta Design; and consulting designer Steve Wagner of BencoDental, the BMDC features 16 treatment rooms that are outfitted with advanced dental equipment as well as two hygiene rooms, a large laboratory, x-ray room and sterilization area. Clients have the benefit of CT machines and digital radiography, wet and dry labs. Customized software streamlines patient treatment and records.

The Clinic’s LEED-Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation establishes Ben Massell as a leader in public health and environmental sustainability. With the latest practice management and imaging software, the clinic is a virtually paperless office. Among the other "green" features are energy-efficient windows, lighting, HVAC and mechanical systems. All of the wall and floor coverings are made from recyclable materials sourced from within 50 miles of the clinic to reduce transportation costs. By using less energy and water, LEED-certified building saves money for families, businesses and taxpayers; reduces greenhouse gas emissions; and contributes to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community. Landscaping makes use of drought tolerant plants and there’s even special parking for hybrid cars and bicycles.
